This log cabin from 1980 in the south of Norway has recently been renovated. A new window has been added to the kitchen, connecting it to the covered terrace on the east side, where the family enjoys their summer breakfasts. On the west side a new set of double doors connects the living room with the largest part of the terrace, allowing the evening sunset to flood room. A bulky fireplace has been replaced by a modern stove, and all the wooden floors have been refreshed with a light grey paint finish. Whilst the natural patina of the darkened pine logs has been preserved, maintaining the cabin’s rustic charm, the new interiors feel light and modern. For weather protection one exterior wall has been clad in new wooden cladding.
